Primary 3 – week beg. 28th May

This week has been another busy week in Primary 3! We have just finished learning about different subtraction strategies and finished this topic by using the strategies we have learned to solve different word problems. Throughout the next few weeks we will be focusing on multiplication, revising what we have done so far and learning some more of the times tables. Please keep working on these at home.

Our Literacy this week focussed on writing an imaginative story which had to include a problem for the character and a resolution. The pupils did a great job achieving this while remembering to include capital letters, full stops and joined up writing. When completing comprehension questions this week we worked in small groups and shared answers together. This helped create some great discussion about our story.

We had great fun outside this week creating our own art work using natural materials. The pupils had been learning about the artist Andy Goldsworthy and decided to try and create their own pieces using materials they found outside. Next week we plan to use these pieces of art to create line drawings.

Have a lovely weekend,

Mrs McVay & Primary 3
