Postcards and Painting in P2A

Thank you for sending in your postcards, it helped us to identify the different features. On Tuesday we wrote our own postcards from the seaside – we put the stamp, address and name in the correct place and wrote some sentences about our holidays. Miss Baillie visited us during our writing lesson; she was very impressed with our enthusiasm for writing. We have enjoyed posting our free writing in the post box and role playing as the postman/woman!

In Maths we have been counting forwards and backwards in 10s from any number to 100. For example, 38, 48, 58, 68, 78… We found this tricky so we used this number square to help us:

In Art we looked at seaside art by the artist Paul Bursnall. We liked how he used thick lines and bright colours – the houses reminded us of Balamory. On Thursday afternoon we had a go at painting our own seaside scenes in the same style.

Next week is our final week before the October break, we’ve worked so hard this term; we definitely deserve our holiday! Next week we will be learning about different types of energy in Science and 2D shape in Maths.

Looking forward to seeing you all at Parents’ Evening (Wednesday/Thursday).

Have a great weekend!

Love P2A and Miss Prince x
