P6B Rivers, electricity and emotions

Our learning this week…..

Monday: Today we started symmetry we had to make our symmetrical patterns and some of us got to describe them and explain. We also started the 1 to 5 scale and we talked about our feelings and how to calm down.

Tuesday: Today we started our topic on Rivers. We created a diagram showing the journey of a river which is split into the upper, middle and lower course. As part of our research we watched some videos showing the journey of a river from its source to the mouth.

Wednesday: In Science we were learning about electrical circuits. We found out that batteries don’t have electricity in them, they have a chemical in them that pushes the electrons around to make electricity.

We have started to read the book Wonder by R.J Palacio which is about a boy called August who has a facial deformity and is starting school for the first time.

Thursday: We revised our knowledge of 6 digit numbers, looking in particular at how we write 6 digit numbers in words, in order and identify the place value of each digit. The class played a game called the silent human number line to consolidate placing 6 digit numbers in order.

Friday: Today in assembly we were talking about safety around electricity water and fire. We also talked about what to do if we get lost.

We are aiming to run a mile every day in our daily mile.

Hope you all have a good weekend.
