Fitness Week in P2A

We have had a great week learning about healthy food and exercise. We had golf and football tasters which we thoroughly enjoyed. We had a great time at Sports Day and Miss Mudd was so proud of us for demonstrating all of our school values. We were so supportive of each other and had a great attitude towards the whole day. We really enjoyed the smoothie making. We got to make 2 smoothies and talked about which one we liked best and why. We have also been starting each day with a session of yoga to ensure we have healthy minds as well as healthy bodies. Even the teachers had an early morning Yoga session run my Miss Baillie. We learnt all about different food groups and the Eatwell plate. We even made our own collages of the Eatwell plate to show the different types of food we need to eat to have a balanced diet.

In IDL we were making more maps. We talked about our journey to school and drew a map to show our partners how we get to school. We then created a giant 3D map of Springfield. We worked in groups and used the construction materials to build some of the key landmarks. To extend our learning we then built some key landmarks in Linlithgow and talked about where they would be in relation to our school. This week we were also learning about Australia. Thank you to M for bringing in lots of photographs and objects to tell us about her time in Australia. A big thank you to Mr Turton for giving up his time to come and speak to both P2 classes about Australia. We learnt a lot and the children loved it.

We held our Springfield’s Got Talent auditions this week and will be choosing 2 winners to go through to the finals in the last week of school. A huge well done to all of the children who auditioned. They showed great courage and showed off just how talented the pupils are Springfield really are.
