Maps and Buddies

Maps and buddies

Each week we are grateful for the time that Ian gives us when he comes in to help. He shared a riddle with us today: A group of Polish people were flying from Russia to the USA when the plane crashed on the border of France and Belgium. Where were the survivors buried?

Class Talks- We have now finished all the amazing class talks. Well done to everyone for all their hard work.

We have written letters to our buddies to welcome them to school and to reassure them that we will be there to help them as they start P1.

We are continuing to practice our fractions – simplifying and converting from mixed numbers to improper fractions. Some of us are beginning to convert fractions to decimals.

We used our measurements of the playground to make a scale map where 1 cm represented 2 m.

In among our learning there are some events coming up:

Friday is Movie day – We will be watching both nights of The Lion King performance in different classrooms and we will be able to choose which DVD to watch.

Springfield’s Got Talent- This week we have been preparing for Springfield’s Got Talent. The auditions are next Thursday and the final is in the last week of term.

Visit to St Michael’s church and the book festival – We are looking forward to this visit on Tuesday.

Also on Tuesday the band have their performance in Livingston. All the best to K, A and G!

Sports Day – We’ve been practicing for the races and hope it’s dry on Wednesday.

The answer to the riddle : Survivors don’t need to be buried anywhere!
