Festive Fun in P2/3

In Maths we have been learning about patterns and number sequences. We challenged ourselves to continue number patterns to and beyond 100.

In Literacy we wrote stories about Santa’s problem. We tried to include exclamation marks and question marks in our writing. We were given this story starter:

Everything was quiet at the North Pole until…

Waaaaaah!’ cried Santa, as loud as could be.

Mrs Claus came running out of the workshop.

‘Whatever is the matter?’ she asked, passing Santa her handkerchief.

‘I… I… I think Christmas will be ruined!’ Santa sobbed….

A.M’s story:

All the reindeers were playing in the dark then all of them got lost! Mrs Claus said, ‘how are we going to find them in time for Christmas?’

Santa said, ‘let’s blow the reindeer trumpet then they will come back!’

‘Well done’, said Mrs Claus. So Santa blew the trumpet 1…2…3… BRRRRRRP. Then all of the reindeers came galloping back.

J.B’s story:

‘Because I’m ill’ said Santa.

‘How?’ said Mrs Claus.

‘Well, there was no stuffing for the teddies, so I filled them with mince pies!’

‘How silly’, said Mrs Claus.

‘…Then I got hungry so I ate the teddies.’

‘WHAT?’ said Mrs Claus.

‘Oops’ said Santa. A couple of days later Santa woke up in hospital feeling much better just in time for Christmas.

Here are some photos of our Christmas crafts, we made penguins, 3D Christmas cards and holly wreaths.

We LOVED our Christmas party!

Have a Very Merry Christmas!
