P7b Weekly Blog

This week’s blog was written by Robbie and Hayden.

After a long weekend we came back to school on Wednesday ready to start the week. We started work on a presentation on Brazil. Many groups had chosen to research the Amazon rainforest and its animals but we are also learning about favelas, carnivals and Brazilian sport. We then started drawings inspired by the bright art of Brazil. We then kicked off with multiplying using fractions and once lunch was over we had science with Mrs Tulloch where we sample plants outside.

On Thursday morning we got on the bus to go to the Risk Factory in Edinburgh. We had 11 different scenarios to work through. It was a fun visit and we learnt about staying safe in lots of different circumstances and how the risks and dangers associated with these could be managed. After our visit we had a late lunch and went to music with Ms. Bain. We finished off with writing about our Cake Fest mini-topic, a recount of the events and what we learned.

Before we knew it, it was Friday. On Friday morning we did mental maths and the boys that got into the cross country team went for a practice run with Mr. Logan. Then it was assembly with Miss Baillie who introduced our Autumn writing competition . Finally, we had break and an extended Golden Time to end of a short week. Our highlight of the week was the Risk Factory, the situations were so realistic! Look at some of our photos below.
