Hello!
We hope that you all had a wonderful time at the Gala Day on Saturday. A MASSIVE well done to Springfield for winning 1st place for our float. A huge thank you to ALL who came along and supported our school!
What a fantastic day we had on Monday for our Quidditch tournament! The sun shone the entire day and all of us had lots of fun displaying the skills that we have attained in the last few weeks! We were absolutely delighted that we all received Quidditch certificates presented by Kieran.
We would all like to take this opportunity to thank Kieran for giving up his own time to teach us, not only Quidditch, but skills for life that we will use in the future.
We researched the artist Vincent Van Gogh this week. We had to consider why the artist chose sunflowers and what mood the sunflowers gave the painting, justifying our answers. We had to think of adjectives and images to describe the sunflowers, Mrs McCartney was so impressed with our contributions.
We investigated and analysed fidget spinners before designing, making and evaluating our own spinner. The spinner had to be for children aged between 7 and 11. We had to stick to the design criteria and researched different types of fidget spinners to aid our designs. It was very important that we kept in mind the audience it was intended for and accurately used a wide range of equipment to make our spinners in pairs. We realised the importance of maintaining a growth mindset and making improvements was the key to success as we worked through the project. Next week we are going to give opinions on our own work and on the work completed by our peers when we present our fidget spinners.
Well done to the choir who sang ‘Titanium’ beautifully during our P7 Leavers Assembly. We don’t think there will be a dry eye in the house when the P7 children present their assembly to their parents.
Well done to Joseph Burgess who won the completion to guess how many straws were in the box for Cancer Research! He was soooooo surprised and delighted!!
A huge well done also to Sophie, Sahasra and our two Joseph’s along with Samuel who got through to the final of Springfield’s Got Talent which will take place on Tuesday, it was so hard to pick two acts to go through to the final as ALL the auditions were absolutely fantastic .
We were reflecting on P5 this week, creating our own unique hand designs and we wrote about what we enjoyed about P5, what we will miss and the funniest moments!!
We shared laughter, a few tears and wonderful moments!
In Maths we calculated time durations in word problems, this provoked lots of discussion when we realised that the calculation for the first problem led to the next problem. We maintained a growth mindset throughout.
Mrs McCartney is delighted with our Personal Projects, well done to all for our hard work and many thanks to our parents for all your support! Mrs McCartney can’t wait to read them all at the weekend.
