Dear All
This week we started the Christmas post, collecting, stamping and delivering letters to the other classes. This week we had fun doing the advent calendar.
In PE Mrs. Reid sadly hurt her leg so instead we learnt how to keep a balanced diet over Christmas. We designed healthy menus and if you were finished you drew a pie chart of the food categories. In social dancing we learned the ‘Gay Gordons’. Niamh said it was quite easy when you got the hang of it. Rebecca said it was quite tricky turning round. Harry said it was really fast.
In music we sang Christmas songs. We all enjoyed singing Rudolf the red nosed reindeer and super Santa Claus.
In maths we learned fractions. We played tree frog treasure game on the computer. We made a fraction wall to show the difference in sizes of fractions. We had a circuit of different fraction games including loop cards and matching fraction games. We also learned remainders. James Hammond (Rebecca’s brother) and Ben Waldron (Amelie’s brother) and Ross Donald came into our class to help us to understand division better. Thank you very much! In CLIC Big Maths we were learning decimals.
In literacy we were writing Scottish stories. We learned how to write a formal letter. We wrote a letter to Santa. Some people wrote a list of things they would like for Christmas and some people wrote Santa complaint letters!
In French we were learning to tell the time!
Have a good weekend!
