Expressive Arts – Primary Three

Primary three pupils can continue our drama lessons using this link  –
https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b03g64rh   (this should work with a BBC iplayer account login)
Have a go at the stories we have already used or try a new one! (your adult might want to find the story on youtube first just to remind you what happens).
You could also teach an adult one of the songs/rhymes we have been learning.
  • A Sailor went to sea
  • Fuzzy Wuzzy
  • John Kanakanaka
Nycos are sharing a new song daily on their website if you want to learn some new songs.
My Twitter is Miss Aikman @cara_aikman if you don’t already follow. I would love to see some pictures of your home drama and music lessons (remember not to name your child).

World Book Day 2018

This year we are inviting all children to get creative in celebration of World Book Day 2018.

Since we have already dressed up as our favourite characters for Book Week Scotland, we decided to do something different this time.

Children are being given the opportunity to come to school wearing a t-shirt or hat (or both) that they have designed and created.  This can be based on a book or book character of their choice.

Our hope is that this will encourage children to talk about their chosen story or character with their friends and peers across the school.

Whilst we encourage as many children as possible to take part, the activity is not compulsory and we do not wish to cause families any unnecessary expense. Please make use of old t-shirts etc and recycled materials that you already have at home so that no cost is involved.

Our ceilidh

In music and in dance, Mrs. Gillies had a Scottish focus this term. Recently Mrs. Gillies invited P1A and P1B to a ceilidh to allow the children the opportunity to show the dances and the songs they have been learning to their teachers.. Mrs. MacLean and Miss Wilson were so impressed to see how many dances and songs that the children could remember.
