Good Morning everyone. I hope you are all well. Are you all managing to get out and about and really looking at the plants and flowers around us? If you see anything interesting when you are out, take a photo and upload it.
THE LIFE CYCLE OF A FLOWERING PLANT
How are your seeds getting on?
I planted seeds from a melon.
I planted quite a few seeds in two different pots.
The first pot, I have been looking after them by putting them in the sunshine and watering them.
The second pot, I have put in the garage so I can compare them.
Is anything happening in either of your pots?
Mine are being very lazy!
Did you enjoy looking at the slow motion video from last week which showed seeds growing.
Now complete the Cut ‘n’ Stick Activity “Lifecycle of a Seed.”
Look below at the DIAGRAM to help you.
Now here is another slow motion video of a flower opening. This is a dandelion. You will have seen these flowers. In this video you can see all the little seeds blowing away, ready to create new dandelion plants.
I can’t believe this is our second last week in P2/1. I am so proud of you all working hard in these unusual conditions.
I would like you to do two jobs for me this week. I know some of the P1’s have already done this. Please draw and share a picture of your favourite memory in P2/1. My favourite memory in P2/1 was the week of our class assembly and Rookie Rockstars. I couldn’t believe how much energy you all had that week and I could definitely see 21 confident individuals.
P1 – continue to see daily posts from P1 teachers.
Already we are so close to the end of term – how did that happen? This week there is a focus on looking back at p2 and remembering all the fun times you have had, have you any tips for the new p2s next year?
One of my favourite memories from this year was rookie rockstars – we sure did rock out. I also loved our Friday dances before P.E. What is your best memory?
Keep up the great work p2, we have very nearly made it through a whole term of home learning. You are amazing.
I hope that you are all doing well and learning new and interesting things. I have attached our new learning grid with lots of activities for you to have a go at and will update Sumdog with some new competitions – enjoy!
Take care and remember to show me any pictures or videos of your learning on here and on Twitter.
I hope you have enjoyed the long weekend. I have been thinking of those who were meant to be involved in the Gala procession this year and who were possibly a little disappointed.
P1 will receive learning from our P1 teachers as usual this week and P2 here is your new grid. Week 9 – There are lots of activities so please use in a way that best suits your family life. Please let me know if you have any questions.
I can’t believe it is another new week of home learning and only three weeks left of this school year. Where has the time gone?
You continue to impress me with the work I have been able to see so far, if you are able to send me some picture of your work that would be amazing.
This weeks home learning is using the same format as last week – one literacy, one numeracy and two other activities per day. If you cannot get all these completed please do not worry, only do what you can. Week 9 (2)
If you have any questions or queries please do not hesitate to get in touch either by emailing the school office for them to pass this to myself or through a message on Twitter.
