Just in case you cannot find it I’ve attached  the 3 optional learning activities for you.      P2 Home Learning 13.08.20

P2B Home Learning – Week 6

Good  morning, P2B!

I hope that you and your families are all doing well and that you are managing to be creative and enjoy your learning at home.

Attached is this week’s home learning grid for you to have a look at. Please remember: these activities can be adapted and explored however suits you and your parents/ carers. There are suggestions/ guidance of the learning that we would be completing in class as well as some revision.

P2 Home Learning – Week 6

I hope that you have all had chance to watch and sing along to the P1-3 Assembly on the blog.  I really enjoyed it and it was nice to hear all of the familiar voices and songs. If you haven’t had the chance yet, that’s okay! You can find it on the blog and a new assembly will be added every second Friday.

I will be assigning new work and activities on each of our online resources throughout the day. Currently, we’re using: Active Learn, Sumdog, IDL and Education City. Please only do what you can – this work is not mandatory, only a tool to support your learning.

Take care, everyone!

Ms Jenks-Brown 🙂

P2B Home Learning – Week 5

Good afternoon Primary 2B,

I hope that you have been out enjoying this glorious weather today!

I have attached the home learning grid for week 5. In this grid we will be starting our new topic – ‘The farm’. This topic is my favourite and I’m sure that you will all enjoy it too.

Each home learning grid is a mixture of revision and some new content, to make sure that all your previous learning is sticking in your brain too. If there is anything else that you think you need to help with your learning please get in touch by leaving a comment here or on twitter.

I have updated Sumdog with some new competitions just now and will be updating the rest of our online resources and games on Monday.

Take care Primary 2,

Ms JB

P2 Home Learning – Week 5

P2B Home Learning – Week 4

Good Morning, P2B!

I hope that you are all well and taking care of each other. I have been really enjoying seeing what activities you have been doing through photos on Twitter, please continue this!

I have attached this week’s home learning activity grid below. This is the last week of similar activities before we move on – next week, we’ll be having a look at our new topic (I think you will all like it!)

P2 Home Learning – Week 4

Please remember: it’s up to you and your family to decide your home learning routine. Everyone will have different routines and this is okay, whatever suits your family the most. Lots of play and outdoor activities are important too.

  • I will be updating Sumdog with some new challenges for you (have a look out for a spelling challenge too).
  • I will put some more books on the ActiveLearn resource.
  • Remember to check  out education city too for a range of games to support learning (I will assign some today).

Some websites that you might find useful:

  • https://worksheetgenius.com/  (You can make up worksheets that suit your child’s ability from a range of curricular areas).
  • https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/5-7-years/counting  (The children should be familiar with a lot of the number games on this site – try ‘hit the button’ for some competitive fun!)
  • Twinkl (offering parents some free access to resources during this period of school closure, lots of worksheets to have a look at.
  • https://www.duolingo.com/ (a great site for practising langauges – it can be downloaded as an app onto Ipads too).

Thanks  and take care everyone,

Ms JB

Welcome to Term 4, P2B!

Hello P2B Cherubs.

Welcome to Term 4! You have all worked so hard to get to this point and have come on so much since the beginning of Primary 2 – I’m very proud of you all.

I hope that you had a lovely Easter break with you families and have been enjoying the sunshine.

I have attached this week’s home learning grid with various activities and will be updating the Sumdog challenges and reading books on the ActiveLearn site throughout the day.

P2 Home Learning – Week 3

Remember: only do what you can, this is only a guide of what kinds of things that we would be covering and some revision of previous learning.

For some different kinds of activities, UNICEF are publishing an article alongside some activities every week which explore children’s Rights. This week the article is all about ensuring children have the right to the best possible health. The power point for this is attached below.

Article-of-the-Week_Article-24_FINAL_160420

Finally, I saw this activity online and thought it would be a really nice thing to do (see photo below). It would be good to paint a rock every week and write something that we are thankful for during the quarantine (e.g. family time, playing outside, using Zoom to speak to relatives). Then you could make a display in your garden.  We could even bring one each into school to make a display when everything goes back to normal 🙂

Take care everyone – any questions please get in touch via the blog or through twitter.

P2B – Week Beginning 30.3.20

Hello P2B,

I hope that you are all doing well, keeping safe and being good!

Here are a couple of updates for this week:

  • I have attached the Week 2 Home Learning grid. Remember: just do what you can and if you really like an activity you can always extend it, e.g. create a project or do some research online.
  • I have created a ‘competition’ on Sumdog – go and check it out if you can and see if you can earn a place on the leader board!
  • Education City has moved to a new platform to accommodate all of it’s users, if you’re experiencing any issues with this, get in touch here or via twitter @MsHBrown1
  • I have also attached some P.E. games and activities from Mr Tennant – the P.E. spelling one looks really fun!
  • I will be renewing the reading books and assigning some number/ maths words on ActiveLearn later in the week – these are not mandatory, just an extra resource for you to use.
  • This is an excellent resource (and the activities do take a while!)  For P2 look for Level 1 and try the topic ‘Born to Party’.  Here is the link: https://enterprisingschools.scot/resources-2/

And finally, while the sun is making an appearance please try to make the most of it, get into the garden for some exercise, collect some bugs or try your hand a some water ‘painting’.

Missing you all P2B,

Ms JB
