HT Message

I am writing to inform you that I have accepted the post of acting Head Teacher at East Calder Primary School. This is a seconded position for 18 months and I will be taking up the post following the October break.

My acting replacement will be appointed as soon as possible and I will keep you informed of any developments.

I would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone for your kindness and support over the past three years, it has been a privilege to have worked with such dedicated, warm and caring pupils, families and staff and I know that the school is in a good place to continue its learning journey.

As I mentioned, this is a seconded position and therefore there is every possibility that I may return to PUSCPS in the future.

Many thanks and warm regards,

Steven Eagleson
Headteacher

Club Wild Veg Sale

We hope you’ve noticed how amazingly the vegetables in our school garden have grown.  they are all ready to be harvested and club Wild with Ms Young and Sarah-Jane will get picking this week.

Next Monday (2nd October) the Club Wild pupils will be at the gate selling the produce for their group funds.  Please stop and have a look, chat to the kids about the veg and buy some delicious home (or rather school)-grown veg for supper.

Fantastic Fundraisers!

We are so proud of Rosa and Darcy.  Over the weekend they decided to raise money for the school by making and selling slime.  Rosa told me the recipe and it is very complicated!  The girls were amazing role-models and fantastic entrepreneurs, raising £66!  Well done girls – be very proud of yourselves as responsible citizens and contributors.

Achievements 22 September 2017

Today Robert and Susan Comrie came in to talk to us about their work with the charity Friends of Magale which you have been helping us support in school for several years. The RRS Magale reps (pictured) presented Mr and Mrs Comrie with our most recent cheque for £365.  We have a number of fund-raising events planned this session which the RRS Magale committee will help plan.

Ross Logan our Active Sports coordinator came in to speak to us about lunchtime and after school sports clubs.  there are vacancies in all clubs and letters have already gone home.  Mrs Birrell at the office can provide new forms if required.  The Active sports clubs cost money, if this is a barrier to participation for your family, please speak to us at school and we can help with the cost of this.

Congratulations to one of our P4 pupils for working hard at his Active Sports club last session.  One of our P5 girls (not pictured) was also presented with an award for great attitude and enthusiasm at club.

Congratulations to our winners of achievement certificates for this week.
