First a highlight from my past week: One of my sisters had her 40th this past weekend and she had a surprise zoom meet with friends and family, people from all across the world joined. Here are some of the questions. Do you know any of the answers? Can you find out the answers?
Earlier in the week I told you about a rock I painted. I hid it near the school and I am now aware of at least two people who have spotted it. Here it is again to remind you. Have you seen it?
Apparently, there are painted rocks popping up all around Linlithgow. So, I think a good challenge for the weekend would be to go on a treasure hunt to see if you can find any.
Also I want you to challenge me. Earlier in the week one of you told me about a very long walk they went on to Muiravonside. I took that as a challenge and followed a very similar route for one of my evening jogs. Here is the proof that I made it.
It was a tough run, especially when running up the wooden aqueduct steps and then going over the cobbles on it. The countryside park is a great place to visit.
If you want to challenge me, let me know about somewhere you have visited. I might just need to prove I made it.
Finally, here’s a Maths challenge for you. Can you work out how old the teacher is?
Thanks again to those of you who shared your work with me, keep up the good work. Today, I have a Spelling Fitness Challenge for you. Watch the video to find out more.
And here is the grid you need to complete it. Have fun and make sure your parents do it too!
And below are the follow on activities you can do. Try to do at least two over the week.
Gilbert the Hero Reading Comprehension
What kind of shark is Gilbert?
Why did Rita suggest they put Finn on the swing?
How do you think Finnball is played?

Where exactly did Finn and Rita hide?
Do you think Gilbert was good at looking after Finn? Explain your answer.

Question Master

Rocking Researcher
In the book Gilbert is a shark. Find out about sharks. You could choose one species of shark to draw and write a few facts about.
First some highlights from my past week: I saw a deer and a hare whilst jogging in the countryside. The deer jumped out of some bushes right in front of me, it was amazing. I’ve been writing a quiz for my big sister who turns 40 on the 23rd, which includes lots of embarrassing photos. Finally, I’ve been painting some rocks inspired by our P3B celebrity. Here is one of my rocks.
I would love to hear about your highlights too.

This week my story is ‘Gilbert the Hero’, which I will post about separately. This week it is a revision week for spelling of the last four weeks of rules. Below are the rules you have been practicing.
My daughters made their own board game which they enjoy playing to practice their spelling words. They also play the game Twister. If they fall they have to spell five words. I wonder what games you might like to play while practicing your words.
During the week let us know how you are getting on by emailing myself and Miss Ross.
Thanks for those of you who sent me some pictures of your work yesterday. Below are some great pieces about One Button Benny. I look forward to seeing some more today.
A note for you about Sumdog. The activities we published on there are a guide and we are trying to cover a range of interests and abilities. You can choose which ones you feel are most suitable for you.
Yesterday, I had a go at the sock challenge I posted a couple of weeks ago. I think I changed the rules a little. I would love to find out how long it takes you. I placed the washing basket 4 large (adult) steps away. Remember adults need to do 10 pairs of socks and children 5. Younger ones could do it with the socks already paired up. Here’s my attempt. Enjoy!
PS The child laughing at me is Charlotte, and, yes, I have grounded her as a consequence!
I’ve had a super busy week since I last checked in with you guys. I’ve been doing some running, we checked out the blossom trees by the Rose Garden, we’ve done some quizzes with family and friends and I watched High School Musical! Here’s a picture of some chalk art we did for VE Day.

It’s Friday and we have a long weekend ahead of us. It is a bank holiday on Monday and an inset day on Tuesday so we will not be uploading blog posts on those day.
This morning have a look at the blog posts from throughout this week and see if there are any activities you have not managed yet. Have a last look at this weeks spelling words. My girls love playing games when spelling like snakes and ladders. Each time they roll they also have to spell one of their words.
I leave you with a long weekend challenge to learn a little about maps. The link below is for a lesson all about them including an activity to design a map of your local area.
