Good morning Primary 3,

I hope you are all enjoying learning about the space station this week from the tasks on the weekly grid. Space X were to launch 60 satellites in a rocket up into space overnight from Cape Canaveral in Florida.  I am sure that footage will be available to watch on the main news channels or on Newsround later today.

Today in Maths we will be continuing with 2D shapes, but today we will be working on creating patterns and finishing sequences of patterns. Remember, you must read the questions on the worksheet properly before answering.

P3 Home Learning Wednesday 3.6.20

Good morning Primary 3. I hope you are all well and having a good week.

Here are your home learning activities and resources for today. There are lots of activities to keep you busy. You can record the the answers to the learning tasks in your jotter or on the sheets listed if you are able to print them.

Maths – We are continuing our learning about capacity. Remember capacity is the amount that a container can hold. Today we are learning about litres and millilitres. We use litres to measure larger capacities and millilitres to measure very small capacities (1000 millilitres = 1 litre).

Literacy –  Have a look at the power point to revise last week’s lesson about speech marks and complete the activities on the slides. You will need your jotter or a piece of paper for this task.

RME – Kindness handprint heart. This is a nice activity that you can do with your family.

French – Today we are learning how to say what we like to eat and don’t like to eat in French. Use the power point below to help you to complete the activity sheet.

Take care

Good morning Primary 3.

Hope you are all well?

In today’s maths, we will be looking at 2D shapes. I know you have worked hard on your shapes this year, I would like to see how you get on with this worksheet:

Y2-Spring-Block-3-WO4-Draw-2D-shapes-2019

Answer sheet: Y2-Spring-Block-3-ANS4-Draw-2D-shapes-2019

Remember the different components of a shape are:

The face (the shapes surfaces), vertices (corners) and edges (the line where two faces meet). See image I have made below to clearly explain:

Good morning Primary 3!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend in the sunshine? Did you meet up with family that you had not seen for months? Let me know!

It was an exciting weekend in other ways too, as the Space X rocket successfully launched on Saturday on it’s second attempt. I watched it with my family and it was amazing to see and very exciting! Did you watch it live? Or have you seen clips of the launch since? Your work on this weeks grid has a focus on the International Space Station because of this historic launch and links in very well with our flight topic:

P3 Home learning – Summer term Week 7

I hope you have a wonderful week this week Primary 3, remember to keep an eye out on the blog every day for new tasks and email me photos of your work, you taking part in activities and flat Mrs Love photos so I can see how you are getting on and what you are enjoying participating in.

Take care.

P3 Friday 29.05.2020

Good morning Primary 3,

It is Friday today! The First Minister has changed lock down rules a little as of today. You may now visit family or close friends, no more than eight people at a time, whilst maintaining a two metre distance outside. The weather is to continue to be sunny and warm this weekend and I am sure many of you (as will I!) be meeting up with those people we have not seen for over two months, such as grandparents etc. I hope you will be enjoying the lovely weather and having barbecues in gardens and fun in the sun with your loved ones.

Today I will not be setting you a Maths task, I would like you to write a letter to each person you will be meeting up with in the next little while, explaining how you feel about them and why you have missed them. Take a photo with flat Mrs Love, send it to me via email or Twitter and then when you meet up with your loved ones it will be a lovely gift to give them to show them how much they mean to you.

Here is a template I have created for you to use with some sentence starters or you could use this as an example to create your own. You are welcome to colour in and draw lovely pictures on the letter before giving them to loved ones.

Lockdown letter

If you do not have plans for meeting family. Use the template for an example and write your own thank you letter to someone who has been looking after you over the past few months, explaining why you are thanking them.

Remember to send me photos over, I can’t wait to see your lovely letters!

Enjoy,

Mrs Love

Good morning P3.

I hope you had a good day yesterday. I was sad that the Space X rocket launch was postponed due to bad weather in Florida. The good news is that it will now hopefully launch on Saturday around the same time. Remember to follow the link on previous post to watch the launch live from the NASA website.

Today’s Maths work is more on position and movement and using grids. Here is the worksheet:

Maths – Today we begin a new topic about capacity. Capacity is the amount that a container can hold. Please complete the  activities attached ‘Measuring capacity at home’.

Literacy – When do we use speech marks in writing? Speech marks are a piece of punctuation which go around the actual words that someone says. Have a look at the power point which explains this further and complete the activities on the slides. You will need your jotter or a piece of paper for this task.

French – Please play the bingo game with your family to revise the names of different food in French.  Also have a look at this video clip on youtube ‘Learn French with Alexa’ (Salty Food French).

RME – Complete the activity sheet ‘What makes me special’. You can draw or write in the bubbles or have a mixture of both.
