This week we have done…..

Maths

We have done some chimney sums on addition ,subtraction and multiplication. We have also done some work on money as chimney sums.

Health and wellbeing 

On Tuesday we had Miss Taylor, we were doing health and wellbeing. She handed out little notes that make u happy.

P.E.

In P.E we have only done football.

OUTDOOR LEARING

For outdoor learning we learnt a word called biodiversity.

P6/5 have been learning about maths a lot this week.

Maths

For the maths we have done factors of numbers. We have also been trying to work out the area of some shapes.

Literacy

For this week we have been doing explanation writing on word and our jotters. We have also done some presentations on games and IPhone more things like that. We also done some book covers to help us with our assessment skills.

Science

We have been doing some outdoor learning with Miss Dobbie and learning what plants need to grow. We have also learnt a new word called biodiversity that means the variety of plant and animal life in the world or in a particular habitat.

p6/5 week

Maths

This week in maths we have been learning about area. We also made posters finding the area of a rectangle and a triangle. Our class has also done centimetre square. Today we done time while calculating how many seconds are in an hour which we found out was 360.

Literacy

This week in literacy we have been doing SRAs the skill that is skimming and scanning. We have also been doing spelling activities in spelling.

Art

In art we did a vote on if we should draw a step-by-step drawing of a husky or a pug. The majority of the votes voted husky instead of pugs we all think we drew pretty well.

Presentations

we did pair work presentations with our table partners. Everyone did fairly different presentations from movies to Iphones to food.

Fun Friday!

Thank you all for posting such sensible and appropriate comments over the last couple of days. On Friday I will probably change things quite a lot in view of this and let you chat about pets etc. I also want to check the work you have been doing. I don’t necessarily need to see it all. Things that you are proud of. And this maths and the instructional writing “Recipe for a horrible person”. Please make sure you have completed both of these. I want to use these as a form of assessment, so please make sure they are done. Because of this I will not set any additional maths or language tasks for today. But you still have loads of stuff here to do! I think I might try to organise it so I can chat to you individually. As usual I think I have put up here far more work than you can get through. Please take control of your learning and be selective. Do what is most appropriate for yourself, and please do not stress about not getting it all done but please try to do the maths and writing activities I have asked for.

We will ask each other questions about the books we are reading. You have additional role of Illustrator for this week. Please try to do both. Again just use the sheet as support but write the work into your jotters. Read the 4 slides from the PowerPoint “Wonder Questions2” and answer them. You can use this to inspire your own questions.

Scottish SPCA Adventure Tails Activity Packs

Filled with approx. 20 pages of activities linked to all areas of the curriculum to ensure we are encouraging skills in numeracy, literacy, relate to science, health and wellbeing, expressive arts, languages, RME, social studies and technology. These can be accessed at home by the pupils and are, as always, free

Children will be able to demonstrate they have completed each page of the booklet through solving clues as they go along in the form of anagrams. They can only get the letters for their anagram by sourcing the answers relating to each activity (one activity per curriculum area per page based on a specific topic). At the end of the book there will be a page to record all the anagrams and solve our Inspectors mystery.

Hello again!

On Monday’s daily plan I left out the “nagging” paragraph. Unfortunately on Monday afternoon Teams was not being used appropriately. So: Please remember that “Teams” gets really busy during the day so you are better off accessing the resources you need from “Files” the night before. Please also do not click on “New Conversation” in “Posts”. Please also remember it is not the correct platform for chat. Please do not post Giffs or pictures of pets etc, and keep your posting and pinging to the minimum, for example use the thumbs up “Like” emoji rather than post “OK”. This will make it easier for you to find things and be less distracting. Another plea: make sure you read this document and the timetable as it has a lot of answers to the questions you are asking. You should not need to ask each what you should do as it is all written here.
