Welcome back to our blog! Have a read to see what we have been up to!
Numeracy
We have started our new topic of time. This week, we have been focusing on the months of the year – how to read and spell them, and also the order in which they come.
Jayden – “There are 12 months in a year”
Euan – “2 months after January is March, and April is the fourth month”
Vrishti – “Halloween is in October”
Archie M – “There are different months in different seasons”
IDL
Our new topic for this term is World of Work.
Maddison – “We spoke about different kinds of jobs”
Ethan – “We looked at different job sectors and wrote the jobs that are in that sector”
Writing
We began learning a new writing genre this week – explanation.
Max – “An explanation is when you explain something”
Mark – “First comes the title, then the identifying statement, then the explanation sequence, then the summary statement”
Andrew – “A summary is when you say what has happened”
Fun in the sun
We have been out enjoying the sun this week. We were learning how to make daisy chains and found it quite tricky and fiddly! Some of us got the hang of it after a while!
Some of us were learning to assess risks by climbing a tree.
Jordon – “There were stable branches and unstable branches”
Louie – “We had to make sure we were testing the branches and only standing on the stable branches”
Charli Mae – “We couldn’t go too high up to the top because the branches were unstable”
Sophie – “I was happy but also scared because I had to make sure I didn’t fall off”
Have a lovely weekend in the sun!
