This week, we enjoyed a Health and Well-being focus linked to Children in Need. We explored the 5 to thrive approach to improving physical and emotional well- being.
First Thrive to Five- Connect
Here we explored different ways of connecting with one another to improve well-being. Suggestions included: give someone a smile, sharing is caring , be kind and gentle and include others. We also discussed goals and targets and ways of achieving them.
Second Thrive- Take Note
Here we looked at ways of identifying traits of when people are not feeling themselves and actions we could take to help others.
Third Thrive- Get Active
Moving your body in different ways can help your physical and mental well-being. As part of our P.E. lesson, we took part in a range of physical activities such as speed, dribbling and balance. We discussed the positive impacts exercise can have on the body and then we completed a fitness diary, self-assessing our ability to complete the task.
Fourth Thrive- Be Curious
As a class we discussed the importance of taking part in learning, the different ways to challenge ourselves and why it is beneficial to try something new.
Fifth Thrive- Give
Thank you to all who donated to the sharing shed, it is nice to think of others during these difficult times.
