Primary 3 – Tuesday 31st March

Good morning everyone!

Hope you all had a good start to your week. Remember you can use the links I posted last week to do Joe Wick’s Daily Workout and to listen to some stories from David Walliams. As well as using your packs, I have given you some other activities below:

Reading -Read a part of your story – make up at least 3 questions that you would like to ask the author of the book to find out more.

You can also follow this link to access your reading books online to consolidate and practise your reading skills:

https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/uk/lifestyle/a31924681/biff-chip-kipper-childrens-learning-e-books-free/?utm_medium=social-media&utm_source=facebook&utm_campaign=socialflowFBGHUK

Literacy -Write a letter to a friend telling them what interesting things you got up to last week.

  • Numeracy – Try subtracting from a decade number:

40 – 2 =

40 – 6 =

60 – 8 =

60 – 4 =

20 – 7 =

20 – 3 =

70 – 1 =

70 – 9 =

30 – 0 =

30 – 5 =

*Now try and make some of your own sums and get someone at home to work them out then make some more for you.

Remember stay safe and be kind to those at home with you!

Journalling or keeping a diary

Have you thought of keeping a diary ? There are many famous ones (Google Anne Frank!) that have been written and published over the years!

It is nice to have a record of events, thoughts and feelings at a particular time, to look back on. You could keep a diary in a jotter or notebook. There are many suggestions for layouts and designs online too. (Try Google Images – “Daily journal bulletins for kids”)

You maybe want to just record your highlights of  a day –

What made me smile today….

What made me laugh out loud…

What have I enjoyed doing most….

Journalling can help us stay in the moment and focus on the positives – which are Mindfulness skills.

Primary 2 – Tuesday 31st March

Good Morning Primary 2!

Numeracy

Today, let’s revise what we know about counting by 2s, 5s and 10s. I have attached our songs for each of these number processes below. See if you can teach someone in your family each of the songs!

R.M.E

Speak to someone in your family about the Easter Story and what you already know about it. Can you write down the things you already know and the things you might like to find out? This will help you during a task in Week 3. Draw your favourite part of Easter and have a look below to see what else you should do depending on your group;

Green Group; 3+ sentences about your picture including at least 3 adjectives.

Purple and Pink Group; 2+ sentences about your picture with at least 1 adjective.

Yellow Group; 2+ sentences about your picture.

Blue Group; 1+ sentence(s) about your picture.

Everyone should remember to include capital letters, finger spaces and full stops.

Here is a super fun scavenger hunt for you to do in your garden!  If the weather isn’t great you could do it from a window or save it for another day! Have fun!

Remember you can also take part in the Easter STEM Challenge! (Please see previous post titled “Primary 2 – Easter STEM Challenge” for details).

Have a great day!
