It was lovely to see Carol and Helen from East Calder Playgroup this morning. Carol and Helen had a rare morning off and came to the school gate to wish good luck to our new Primary 1 pupils. They also came to visit our nursery to wish good luck to some of our new children starting today.

Goodbye and Good Luck Pre-School

We would like to wish all of our children who are starting school next week farewell and good luck! We have been so proud to be your Champions during your time with us at Calderwood Nursery School.

Nursery Moving on Ceremony

A wonderful moving on ceremony this week for our nursery pre-school pupils. We wish them all the best for their move up to Primary 1.

Goodbye and Good Luck Mrs Laing

Today Calderwood said goodbye and good luck to our very special Mrs Laing! We will always be grateful for the energy, enthusiasm and commitment she has given our nursery since opening it at the very beginning. We wish her all the very best for her future career in teaching.

Calderwood Construction:

It’s ready! Next week our extension will be handed over from Morrisons to West Lothian Council. Thank you so much to Morrisons who have helped us to feel a part of the journey. Yesterday, some of our Pupil Council reps were excited to be the first children to walk through the magic doors into our extension today! They also got to meet some important visitors, we are looking forward to sharing the photos soon.

This term’s winning house was Roe House Pupils voted for a Pyjama Party with lots of games and treats. A great time was had by all.
Calderwood Clan Championships: Well done to all our pupils who won races at our recent sporting event! You can see their pictures here. Thank you to the parent council for purchasing the medals and stickers.
This week we have celebrated our Ben Lawers and Ben Lomond Clans of 2024! They performed a fun and emotional connects for their families and marked leaving Calderwood by having a clan meal at Nandos. We wish them lots of luck on the next part of their adventure at West Calder High School.

And just like that we have reached the end of Chapter 3, and what an adventure it has been! Chapter 3 saw the biggest growth to date at Calderwood with new clans, children, families and champions. We have had so many achievements this session and have made a lot of progress with our improvement journey, a huge thank you to our champion team for making this possible! Thank you also to you for all your support over the year. Happy holidays everyone, we will see you all in Chapter 4!

To celebrate their final week at Calderwood, the pupils of Ben Lomond and Ben Lawers went for a meal to Nando’s with some of the Calderwood Champions. We had a lovely time, chatting and sharing our memories of the year together.

Ben Lawers and Ben Lomond Leavers’ Celebration

Our Ben Lawers and Ben Lomond clans came together on the morning of the 26th June to celebrate their time at Primary School with their families.

The children chose to do an “Oscars” themed celebration and shared successes and achievements through giving each other awards.

Thank you to our Parent Council, who funded the gift of a personalised keyring for every child in Ben Lawers and Ben Lomond – we really appreciate this gesture.

The children gave a fantastic performance for their final Connects and we wish them the best of luck as they move on to High School!
