Litter Pickers in the community.

During the February break- a group of 6 local children completed some litter picking in the local area- on one of the streets close to school (Cameron Gardens) which had been impacted by a lot of rubbish!

There was some amazing feedback regarding the six pupils. They gathered the rubbish with such enthusiasm and they managed to fill 12 rubbish bins of litter!!
This was also reported on the Calderwood Facebook page and received lots of praise from the local residents.

Measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccination for children & young people

NHS Lothian has alerted all schools about an increased number of cases and outbreaks of measles in England and Europe which increases the risk of infection spreading in Scotland.  Immunisation with the MMR vaccine is the safest way to protect yourself and your family against measles, mumps and rubella.  In February, NHS Lothian will write to all parents/carers of school aged children who have not yet had two doses of the MMR vaccine.  Parents/carers are urged to book an appointment for their child to receive their MMR vaccine by calling the NHS Lothian Vaccination Helpline on 0300 790 6296.  Parents/carers can gain further information on measles, including signs and symptoms to look out for, by accessing NHS Inform https://www.nhsinform.scot/campaigns/mmr-againstmeasles/

He will visit Calderwood on Saturday 2nd December and East Calder on Sunday 3rd December, starting from 4pm both days.

We will be making plenty of noise so you will likely hear us coming!

We will also have  ‘🎅🏽Santa Stop Here🎅🏽’ signs going up around your community in the coming weeks.

The routes we are taking, with the link to track Santa can be found here: https://www.eastcalderscouts.uk/home/santa
