P6 Cross Country Race
Thistle and Schiehallion clans had a fantastic morning out at the West Calder Cross Country Event at Polbeth United pitches. They supported each other wonderfully and all children completed the race. To top off a brilliant morning, Calderwood Primary Boys were the winning team, coming first in the overall team event! The top 4 boys will have the opportunity to take part in a further Cross Country event when they are in Primary 7. Well done to all!
Lego Plea
Dear parents/carers,
As part of our School Improvement Plan, the Health and Wellbeing champs have been looking at creating clan Health and Wellbeing boxes. We are issuing a plea for donations of unwanted Lego that we will put in to these boxes. If you have any Lego at home that does not get used, even kits with missing pieces, we would be so grateful if you would hand this in to the office by Wednesday 20th March.
Thank you so much.
West Lothian Children and Young People’s Occupational Therapy Service
Measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccination for children & young people
NHS Lothian has alerted all schools about an increased number of cases and outbreaks of measles in England and Europe which increases the risk of infection spreading in Scotland. Immunisation with the MMR vaccine is the safest way to protect yourself and your family against measles, mumps and rubella. In February, NHS Lothian will write to all parents/carers of school aged children who have not yet had two doses of the MMR vaccine. Parents/carers are urged to book an appointment for their child to receive their MMR vaccine by calling the NHS Lothian Vaccination Helpline on 0300 790 6296. Parents/carers can gain further information on measles, including signs and symptoms to look out for, by accessing NHS Inform https://www.nhsinform.scot/campaigns/mmr-againstmeasles/
