Meet the Team
It was great to see so many new and familiar faces, albeit virtual, at our recent ‘Meet the Team’ presentation where we finally had the chance to introduce ourselves and to speak about our school.
This school session is unlike any we have had before and we don’t know how long it will last for. However, one thing which is certain is that the health and well-being of every child in Bellsquarry Primary School is of paramount importance as well as their learning and learning environment.
With this in mind, we opened with our school’s vision and values and our motto of, ‘Learn, believe and you will succeed.’ We discussed whole school approaches to Health and Well-being, in particular the use of the Emotionworks recovery programme which aims to support children transitioning back into school as well as each child having a ‘One Trusted Adult’ they could go to should they need support, advice, reassurance and so on.
We also discussed the importance of developing positive behaviour through healthy relationships and our restorative approach to resolving conflict with the children at the centre taking ownership, and supported and guided by the adults.
Finally, we also highlighted the important steps we are taking in light of the current Covid-19 pandemic to minimise risk and how these are reviewed on a constant basis.
