Today we had a visit from Dogs Trust to learn about what they do and how we can help look after dogs. We talked about what humans need and then what dogs need to stay healthy. We learned how to keep fleas away, how to make sure dogs are groomed, how to feed dogs responsibly to make sure they stay the correct weight, how to safely walk a dog to give it exercise, what a dog needs to be comfy at bedtime, what microchipping is and how it helps our dogs stay safe,  how and why we need to clean up after our dogs, how to meet a dog safely and how to protect ourselves if a dog jumps towards us.

Remember: ask the owner if it’s okay to touch the dog, ask the dog if it’s okay then ask the owner where you should pat it.
