We hope everyone at home had a wonderful time during the holidays. We’ve spent time reflecting on our holidays and have shared lots of interesting news with one another. Now, we’re busy planning for our learning during this New Year 2017. There’s lots of exciting things to look forward to!

This week, we have been making New Year Resolutions , promising ourselves success in our learning , our hobbies and relationships.

Next week, we begin our Scottish topic. We’ll be finding out about important people in Scottish history, what Scotland is famous for, which plants and animals are native to Scotland and we’ll be meeting a local Scottish author !

Our learning across the curriculum will include:

• outdoor learning
• exploring our local woodland
• mapping skills
• working with time duration
• designing tartan patterns
• devising healthy  picnics
• information handling
• problem solving
• creative writing
• drama
• learning how to make powerpoints
• presenting an assembly to the school and nursery
