Victorian Houses

This week we have been working together to make a Victorian street in our Primary 6 classroom. We have each created our own Victorian house. To begin with we had to apply our technology skills, for example accurate cutting and measuring. We then added Victorian features to our houses. Some of the things that we included were: bay windows, patterned brick work, slate roofs, stained glass windows, chimneys and arches. We have designed our houses so that you can open them up and see inside! We have drawn in lots of rooms that would be found in typical rich Victorian homes, for example a pantry and a nursery. We decided that we wanted to keep the inside of the house in black and white as we felt that this looked ‘more Victorian’.
