Victorian Money

In maths we have been learning about money and different currencies. We have also been finding out about the coins that were used during the Victorian era and how much they were worth. We found out that paying money was a lot more confusing back then!
In social studies we have been researching the history of Sainsburys. We found out who founded the store and when the first store opened.. it was founded by James Sainsbury in 1869. We enjoyed finding out more about the layout of the store and the products that were on sale. There was even a ‘mechanical cow’ that was used to get milk!
