All about Roald Dahl

On Tuesday we celebrated Roald Dahl’s 100th birthday. We got to dress up as our favourite Roald Dahl characters. We also did some work in class using the BFG. We looked at character descriptions and created our own giants using similes. We had to think of our favourite Roald Dahl stories and then we designed our own book covers for these. We even heard from Roald Dahl himself (on video)! He gave us some imaginative writing tips and told us how he came up with the idea for James and the Giant Peach. As a treat to end the day, we gathered as a whole school to watch the original Charlie and the Chocolate factory.
