This week P3/2 have created a blaze of colour and shape in the classroom!
It all started when we were doing problem solving in maths….
With our Challenge Partners we studied pictures of overlapping triangles and tried to determine how many triangles we could see.
We all came up with different answers! So we compared our answers with other Challenge Partners and discovered that in problem solving there isn’t always a set way of finding a solution, we can use lots of different strategies to try and solve a problem.
We were intrigued by the shape patterns and looked at how shapes were used by the artist Kandinsky in his abstract paintings . We experimented with shape templates and created some Kandinsky style pictures of our own. Here are some examples for you to enjoy!
