Bellsquarry Primary School

The Woodland Trust and P5 & 6 Orchard Project

Since last session, Primary 5 and 6 have been working on an orchard project with the Woodland Trust. The orchard is being created in Bellsquarry Village. The children in P5 & 6 visited an orchard in Blackridge, then they visited the site in Bellsquarry. Eilidh and her team from the Woodland Trust helped the children design an orchard for the site. Over the last few weeks both classes have been involved in planting trees, making bird and bat boxes and creating bug hotels. The planting of the trees was a huge task and the children and the trust were supported from volunteers from the Postcode Lottery.

We would like to share the following YouTube clip which shows the children  planting the trees. We are very pleased with it and well done Primary 5 and 6!
