When I asked the class what they wanted for a focus on this week’s blog and the response was overwhelmingly in favour of our rights respecting lessons. The pupils learned the Bellsquarry Rights Respecting song that was written a couple of years ago with a local songwriter and story teller, Ewan McVicar. Primary One pupils have begun to recognise the difference between a need and a want. They understand that children all around the world share their rights. We made name plates to signify every child’s right to a name. What a clever bunch!
