Today we learned how to play the djembe and some other West African percussion instruments. We learned what they were called, the sounds they made and how to play them. The djembe drum can make different sounds depending on where you hit it. We used our hands to play rhythms on the drums. We used the rhythms to share our knowledge about Mary Queen of Scots. It was a great experience and we can’t wait to do it again in a fortnight!!
