A day out in Edinburgh for Primary 7

Primary 7 enjoyed a day out in Edinburgh on Tuesday this week. We braced the start of the chilling winds to visit a few places before heading down to the Edinburgh Dungeons. We visited Greyfriars Bobby’s Grave and read about the dog, we are going to read more about this next week. Then as a large proportion of the class are beginning the Harry Potter journey we walked along to see the cafe that J.K. Rowling used to write her stories in. Afterwards we headed into the National Museum of Scotland for an hour to look around the Kingdom of Scots where we saw the Guillotine and learned about witches in Scotland.

Our topic this term has been learning about Scotland Chronology, its gory past and key figures in Scottish History. The trip to the Dungeons was a huge success. The class learnt about ghost stories, Burke and Hare, Maggie Dixon, Swaney Bean and the courtrooms of the past. The children came out screaming and buzzing.

Callum and Eeman both think it was the best trip they have ever been on. Jade “I’m sleeping with my mum tonight ha”
