Pupils had a great morning at the beach collecting marine litter. They took some of it back to the school to use in a survey.

25.3.24 CD hovercrafts!!
A few videos of the hovercrafts. They were a bit tricky but everyone had success. We even found out that sometimes it’s easy to pull up the wrong bit!!!
20.3.24 An experiment with smarties
We put the smarties in a circle around a plate then added warm water. The colour came off the smarties and moved in the water. It was amazing to watch the colours moving.
20.3.24 Making different kinds of aeroplanes
We made planes using straws and card then we tried folding paper to make a plane that would fly as far as possible.
16.2.24 Our shields were put onto the galley this year for the Northmavine Up Helly Aa.
8.3.24 Beach transport and peerie Redd Up
We made types of transport by using things that we found on the Urafirth Beach.
After making our transport we had a peerie Redd Up to start cleaning up the beach.
6.3.24 Sailing boats and surface tension
We made sailing boats with a cardboard base then added sails. Wind power was used to get them to move. Passengers were added as an extra challenge.
We also spoke about surface tension on the water and made cardboard boats that could move by themselves when placed in clean water!
