Today as a treat for working hard in maths this term, Ms Scanlan gave the class some more problem solving games. It was great fun, the P6/7 s are so good at giving everything a go and concentrating hard on finding solutions.

Today we had our first African drumming for years (since P1 & P2) It was so much fun, let’s hope Joy can come back in again soon.

So pleased with all the posters that the class has made today. Looking forward to hearing all about it all tomorrow.

Today Mr Leslie came in to speak to the P4/5/6 and P6/7 class. We have all been finding out about Climate Science and he wanted to tell us about the approach by Scholland farm to climate friendly farming. He told us about the way that they feed the animals and fertilise the ground. Mr Leslie also talked about best practice in beef farming techniques. All of the Scholland Farm beef is sold locally – reducing the carbon footprint.
Thank you for coming in to talk to us and answer our questions.

This afternoon we had a fantastic game design session with Emma Chittick. We used arcade.makecode.com to design our own game. It was quite hard to follow the instructions but everyone managed to make their own game. They looked really good.

This afternoon the P7s went out to plant trees, while the P6s were at Bikeability. It was a beautiful afternoon, perfect for outdoor learning. To begin with Ms Scanlan showed the P7s how to plant a tree and then the P7s worked in pairs / groups to plant as many trees as they could. After Bikeability the P6s joined us and in total we planted 38 trees. Fantastic for helping the fight against climate change. Well done!
This afternoon Sarah-Jayne Judge ran a Royal Institute Science show food show. It was a lot of fun and we learnt a lot about digestion, taste and explosions!!!

This morning Alba Abad our @EngageNepalScience scientist and Sarah-Jayne Judge ran a fantastic microscope workshop today. We had lots of really interesting activities.

Neil Bratchpeice, Sarah-Jayne Judge and Alba Abad Fernandez came into school this afternoon to run a comic book session. Neil and Sarah-Jayne explained some of the features of developing a character and the children gave Neil their ideas for our very own class character. It was amazing to see what Neil created for us. We also had a chance to draw a cartoon of our own, which we will finish next week.

The P6s had another great Bikeability session today. They are getting really good at all the manoeuvres.
