# Sandwich making

As part of our food topic we have been writing simple recipes. Today we made the sandwiches from these recipes. Here are some photos to show the process and then us enjoying the final result.

# Food experiment

Today we began an experiment to see how long it takes for food to go off at room temperature and when it is stored in the fridge.

We put some cheese in containers and have stored one of them at room temperature and the other one in the fridge.

We also took two slices of bread and put each one in a bag. One had been passed around the class and the other hadn’t. We have left them in the same conditions to see which one will go off first and also to see how much “foost” grows on each them, we’ll compare our findings and update our blog to show the results.

# Food storage done by co-operative learning

As part of their topic, P4 are learning about how to store food safely so as to try and preserve it and no let it go off too quickly.  They have had to be sorting different foods into cupboard storage or fridge storage. It has led to some interesting discussions and they have noticed that people store their food in different ways.  Here are some photos showing them working together. Next week we will conduct experiments into the best ways to store food and find out what happens if we don’t.  We’ll keep you posted!

# Book making

As you can see everybody is busy making books. These range from ten chapter adventures to flip books. From rainbow books about a rainbow dog to fancy shaped books and scrolls. Next week is the last week so hopefully these fantastic books will be completed!

# Maths

We were busy playing games for doubling numbers in maths today. Four in a row and Find the pair were the order of the day.

# Christmas craft

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Primary 4!

# Old Photos

Here are some photos of this class from the archive!

The accelerated reading scheme is very enjoyable and there are lots of great books to read.

Yesterday  we had a visit from a lady called Elaine. She  told us about road safety.  She explained what would happen if we didn’t wear a seat belt.  She brought in a model car and showed us what would happen if we didn’t wear a seatbelt.  She told us if we were riding our   bikes we had to wear a helmet and that we need to have reflectors on our bikes and she also told us that we need to ride on the left side of the road.  We enjoyed the visit.

# Visit from Chris Hardwick

We had our photo taken with Chris Hardwick this morning. He came into our class this morning to meet us and tell us about lots of important things.  We found out about his role as a police officer. He also told us about road safety, the country code, looking after our community and Internet safety. We look forward to seeing him again in the school and finding out more!
