Keeping connected – 21st January 2021

Happy snow day Primary 3 !

I hope you are enjoying the amazing snowy scene we have woken up to this morning again.

Please keep sending Mrs Belleville and Miss Finlayson your fantastic poetry recital videos. We are really enjoying hearing and seeing your versions of the poems. It is fun exploring the Scots language when we learn the poems.

Today’s Thursday challenge for P3 and their families is to do a little more exploring of the Scots language – with a little twist.

Thistle challenge – 19th January 2021

A good morning message for Primary 3 from Miss Finlayson.

Good morning Primary 3. Your Tuesday challenge is to make a thistle  from natural materials that you find outdoors. Maybe you will find these things in your garden or maybe when you are on a woodland walk. You can get your family to join in if you like.

Your teachers would love to see your thistles and you can do this by sending us your photos or videos.

Remember when you have taken your photos and videos to return the materials to roughly where you found them. This helps us to look after the environment and be sustainable.

It’s good fun taking your learning outdoors.

A Kingsland Christmas

We have been very busy in school this week.

it has been fun walking around the school to see the Christmas doors. Someone spotted that they were all very different to look at and this made it even more exciting. Our corridors look bright and sparkly.

Movie afternoon was such a treat and we thoroughly enjoyed Disney’s. ” The Lion King.” A few of us had never seen it before so, that was special. The snacks and drink went down a treat too! Thank you.

Christmas lunch was tasty and the Christmas tree shaped ice cream was so delicious. A huge THANK YOU  to the kitchen staff and helpers who served us. It was delicious.

We have finished and wrapped our calendars and taken them home. We worked very hard on our bees and sunflower drawings and we are so proud of our final designs. Well done everyone!

The Christmas message led by P1-P3 was very touching. It made us really think about the true meaning of Christmas. Mrs ward wrote and amazing story and she directed it really well with Mrs Belleville. We had a lot of fun learning our lines. How many takes….?

We are looking forward to looking at the Christmas doors virtually as it is accompanied by the Kingsland choir and it’s sure to be really amazing.

We are also looking forward to the pantomime which we  are going to watch on the big screen this afternoon. (  Oh yes we are……!!) The pop corn will make us feel like we are at the movies.

Christmas at Kingsland has been very different this year but, it has been a lot of fun and we have many new memories to treasure.

Have a very Merry Christmas everyone !
