As part of Roald Dahl Day we made up our own designs for The Chocolate Room. We made lots of twisty-turny tunnels and it was fun drawing the maps in 2D.
The challenge now is to Program the Beebots to follow your map.

We were introduced to a design brief and ours was to design a new sweet or chocolate and it’s wrapper. we heard part of a Roald Dahl story first- ” Wonderful Mr. Willy Wonka.”
We were really excited about getting our ideas onto paper. Then we discussed it and made improvements on our design before drawing our neat copy.

We talked about how to make a teens number. We used our learning to help us with our addition.
We are very proud of our Roly-Poly birds. We had lots of instructions to follow.
After painting our elephants we used card to print the pattern of the grass.
After listening to the story of the Enormous Crocodile we talked about what we had found out about each of the characters. We used our ideas to help us with our writing.

We have been discovering what food chains are in nature. Here is a food chain for a fox.
We were looking at the strategy Draw a picture in Problem Solving. We know it is very important to draw clear pictures in Maths and here is a very good example. We also needed to work out our answers in number sums too to make the task more challenging.
Everybody worked well with their partner and there was lots of good discussion as we worked.
