We started a rainy day drawing today. We hope to add it to a painting we did last week and turn it into one picture.

Here we are planting some beans. We will need to water them very 3 days and give them plenty of sunlight. They will need to be nurtured and cared for if they are to grow into healthy plants.
We had a lovely surprise when we found the beans. They were stamped with a love heart. So, that cheered us up and made us smile.
We spent some time outdoors testing our water filtration models. We need to make some improvements to our designs and test the models again. We also need to have much more water the next time we test them.
Our next project is to make muddy water clean. Can we rise to the challenge?
Our great wave display looks amazing and it was beautifully arranged by Mrs Ryalls.
We were shocked to discover that not everyone has access to clean drinking water from a tap. We realised how lucky we are.
We researched how our water is cleaned for us to drink and how it goes through a water filtration system, through pipes and eventually to the taps in our homes.
Our design brief was to make a water filtration system with Lego.
We have still to test out our models. The small objects should not reach the end of the model. If it works properly then only water will reach the end. The Lego obstacles and cloths should trap the small objects
Can we rise to the challenge?
Next week we will test our water filtration models and finish writing our procedure about how we made the model.
As we are reading chapter books now we made these fierce book marks to mark the page where we stop. They were very quick to make and make ideal gifts.
We used our centimetre rulers to measure Mobots then we checked again to make sure we had measured them correctly.
We have been very busy measuring objects and furniture in our classroom using a Metre stick to measure accurately.
It has been fun being active in our learning.
We learned how to use water in our Art today.
First we drew the shape of the water melon with water on a paint brush.
Then we bled the watercolour paints.
Some of the water melon slices look very realistic and quite mouth watering.
It has been quite thought provoking discussing how we need to save water and look after our planet.
These wonderful posters help us to remember not to be wasteful with water.
