P7 Burns Supper

Two of our P7s had a great time performing an extract from Tam O’Shanter at the P7 Burns Supper  at Ayr Town Hall on Tuesday.  They enjoyed the full Burns Supper experience with their P7 peers from across the authority.  The event was fully funded and supported by Alloway Burns Club.

Expert Diver Visit to P5

P5 welcomed Brian Millarvie, a local scuba diving instructor and enthusiast, who gave a fabulous presentation all about scuba diving and how it is done. We all listened very respectfully and asked lots of interesting questions. Mr Millarvie demonstrated all of the different pieces of equipment and how they all work. Some of our learners are counting the days until they are 12 and can join a local club!

P5 Associated British Ports Visitors

As part of their work on the Sea Story project, P5 were very happy to welcome some members of the team from ABP (Associated British Ports). We learned about how the Ports of Ayr and Troon operate, what they transport and who works there. We learned about how things are moved from boat to port and back again and how this is organised. We were very interested to learn about Pilots, who go out to all of the boats entering the port and help steer them in. We had lots of questions but our new friends were happy to share their knowledge.

Lego League Winners

Well done to Mrs Bell-Sammutt and the Lego Club. They recently participated in the First Lego League Discover Competition, “Unearthed” at Ayrshire College in Kilmarnock. The took part in a lot of challenges where they had to programme the robot to solve problems and the won the best robot design competition too!

Please explore the site to find out more about our approach to developing the 6 global competencies – The 6Cs and thinking with a Growth Mindset. There are ideas for supporting your child at home along with school policies and information about the school.

P3 Harvest Service

Well done to our amazing P3s. They delivered our Harvest Service last week at the Auld Kirk linked to all the work they had been learning about in class on farming. We also welcomed our friends from Southcraig who performed with our P5s. Well done to you all.
