Bishop John visits P7 Confirmandi
Today we had a lovely visit from Bishop John. He helped us to prepare for our Confirmation, and gave us more information about some very special Saints.
A few of the children were lucky enough to take part in short role plays to help us understand Bishop John’s role during our Confirmation.
First Holy Communion
Turkish Delight
Last week, we worked as a class to make Turkish Delight because in our novel there was a chapter called Turkish Delight. In the story Edmund is given Turkish Delight from the Queen. The Queen had enchanted the Turkish Delight and Edmund never wanted to stop eating it.
Money, Money, Money
This week the boys and girls in P3/4 have been learning about money.
We played at lots of different stations; making amounts with different coins, problem solving, sorting coins and role play.
Porridge Tasting
In class we have been retelling the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Today we have got to the part in the story where Golidlocks tried the three different bowls of porridge. To make our writing fantastic we did some work on TASTING.
We used dictionaries to help match adjectives to their meanings. Then a thesaurus to find alternatives to temperature words. Afterwards we practised using different ACTION words to describe how Golidlocks ate the porridge. Finally, we got to taste some porridge!
P7 John Byrne Workshop and Award Ceremony
Mrs McDougall and 10 Primary 7 children were very lucky to attend the John Byrne workshop on Wednesday 27th March at the Tannahill Centre.
John Byrne has been our focus this term in art and we entered the competition by completing art work inspired by the artist himself.
We enjoyed the workshop in the morning with Ruth Aitken and then were treated to a fabulous buffet! Look out for footage online of the children completing their sketches
We really enjoyed working with Glencoat’s Primary and getting to know the pupils better by taking part in a portrait challenge.
Our Eco Committee:
