In October 2023, the UK Government’s Online Safety Bill was published in response to harmful online content which affects the mental heath and wellbeing of our children and young people by promoting behaviours such as self-harm, eating disorders and pornography. Click here to access the Bill.
To support young people to remove sexual images of themselves online, the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) and NSPCC have developed the Report Remove tool, in partnership with age verification app, Yoti. Report Remove can support a young person in reporting sexual images or videos shared online and enables them to get the image removed if it is illegal. The NSPCC’s Childline service ensures that the young person is safeguarded throughout the process and the IWF assesses the images.
As part of the West Partnership PSE Info Session series and Children’s Mental Health Week 2023, Linda Thomson spoke about “who’s telling the message” to our children and young people. This session is a must for anyone working in education establishments.
In light of the concerning messages that are being shared around toxic masculinity, misognyny and, more specifically, the INCEL movement, we have created a resource to support conversations around these challenging topics. The resource is designed to increase knowledge around language, create awareness of different types of behaviour and also challenge us to think about how we can be active bystanders around concerning language and behaviours.

respectme and NSPCC Scotland have launched their Think B4 You Type toolkit. This came off the back of a youth-led anti-bullying campaign in Angus. Following the success of the campaign, NSPCC Scotland and respectme gathered the learning and feedback from the young people involved, to create the toolkit for school staff and local authorities.
