Understanding Sleep

Did you know that we’re expanding our approaches around sleep?  We have 15 newly trained Sound Sleep staff who will be using Sleep Action (Scotland) resources to teach children and young people about the importance of sleep for emotional and physical wellbeing.

We are also building our team of Sleep Counsellors.  By May 2024 we will have 12 new counsellors across the council who will work one-to-one with children/young people and families to assess and create a sleep plan tailored to individual situations.  More information will follow!

If you would like more information regarding accessing this support, please contact Corinna Gethins at corinna.gethins@renfrewshire.gov.uk

As part of Children’s Mental Health Week 2023, Corinna Gethins and Joy Rae explored sleep and how it can affect our children and young people.   We recorded the session so that you can find out more..
