Pudsey and Blush will be very proud of our picnic rugs which have five healthy foods that they could add to their picnic basket.

We have all had a great day learning how Pudsey and our donations help Children in Need. There are projects to provide food for children in the holidays, projects to give young careers the opportunity to have fun and relax and groups where children with disabilities can meet others and discuss some of their experiences. Thank you and have a great weekend.

Today we were exploring how our magnetic games would actually work! To link in with writing the instructions, we took a quiz to find out what we know about instructions and how to write them. As we have been developing our games, we have realised how many instructions we might need!

Remember that tomorrow s Children in Need and we will be raising money for Pudsey by coming to school in spots, yellow or something Pudsey related ( including your ears)!. The day will be lots fun as we try out different activities linked to Children in Need.

We worked in small groups to discuss things that are safe and things that are unsafe to put into our bodies. It also led to discussions about healthy and unhealthy food and drink which we put into our bodies.

We have been learning about the importance of number systems and how the Roman numeral system is still used today in clocks, film registrations, books and in the titles of Kings, Queens and religious leaders e.g. Pope John Paul II. Using the letter system, we matched Roman numerals to our own numbers.

Here we are finding the VIPs in a chapter of our class text.

We have been using ordinal numbers to describe the place of  a person or a thing in a queue. We also worked out how the places would change if people left a queue or if someone moved in front of someone else.

Here we are exploring  with magnets and getting some ideas for the games that we are designing.

Today we have been learning some facts about World War 1 and the reasons why people wear a poppy at this time of year to remember those people who have been killed in conflicts. We know that 2018 is very important because it will be 100 years since the end of WW1 on 11th November- this Sunday.

Another reminder that if you have completed sections of your Reading Challenge, then please bring them in to show me. If you need any resources, then I can help with supplying those, too!

If you have borrowed a book from the class library and you want to swap it for another one, then just let me know.

You have your weekly spelling wall rows to practise at home.

There are new Activelearn and Sumdog challenges allocated for everyone.

This week we will be thinking about products that are safe for us to put into our bodies.

It has been another busy week in Primary 4.

We were exploring non-fiction text features, finding out what each feature is for, and then found some features in non-fiction texts.

We discovered that gold is not magnetic. This gold ring was not attracted to the magnet.

Here, it took the force of 4 magnets to hold up this desk tidy.

On Wednesday we had a visit from the SSPCA. Alec was telling us about how injured birds and wild animals are cared for and then released back into the wild. There was a video presentation, then a quiz and at the end we played Snakes and Ladders, but before going up a ladder or down a snake you had to answer a true or false question about animals- it was great fun!

On Thursday we wrote recounts of the SSPCA visit.

Today in PE we were applying our throwing, catching and shooting skills in our first introduction to netball.

Have a great weekend!

Power Point animations

This morning Primary 4 were learning to use PowerPoint. They copied a ghost image from the internet and  pasted the image onto a PP slide. They then used the duplicate slide tool and moved and rotated their character each time to animate their spooky story.
