Bonne année 2020🎊!

It was great to see so many children back to welcome in both a new year and a new decade! This afternoon we were learning about La Fête des  Rois which celebrates Epiphany on 6th January. Many French people will be eating a galette des Rois today and whoever finds a charm in their slice will be king or queen for the day.

We started to create our own crowns to celebrate the festival.

This morning we watched the pantomime “Mother Goose”. There was an interesting fountain that made the mum look younger.  The goose was taken away to the castle. Everyone really enjoyed the show and joined in with the Old Macdonald song!

After learning about some 3d shapes, we used our knowledge of the shapes when putting our 3d snowmen together.

Today we were exploring the properties of 3d shapes, looking at faces, edges and vertices.

Primary 5 were looking at the nets of 3d shapes and matching the nets to th correct shapes. Here the nets are of a cone and a cylinder.

This afternoon we were following Mrs McMillan’s step by step instructions to draw a cheery, festive elf which we could then personalise.

vendredi le treize décembre

We were busy in the Festive Forest Factory. The designers were creating snowflakes, Care for Bears  made a bear cave, the party planners were organising a list of activities and the decorators took charge of the tree and making the forest look wintery.

A huge well done to everyone for their performances today, you all did brilliantly- great singing and super actions!!

mercredi l’onze décembre

One of our girls showed us the sleigh she mad as one of the P5 homework tasks. She explained how the different parts worked and would be useful to Santa. Well done, what a great piece of engineering and design!

Here are some photos from the Dress Rehearsal. As you can see P4 are keeping their tops clean and sparkly  ready for Friday.

Primary 5 look very cool  😎 in their costumes!

Everyone sang and moved really well- can’t wait for the performances on Friday.

A flavour of the P5 to P7 party. We had a great time !

Reminder that tomorrow is Christmas lunch and Christmas Jumper Day. Please bring in a tin 🥫 e.g. beans, soup etc to donate instead of money for the fun of wearing your Christmas jumper. Thank you.

On Friday, ready for the Nativity performances, everyone should come to school wearing black trousers/ leggings and black shoes unless changing into sandshoes in school. Thanks.

lundi le neuf décembre

Remember that it is the P5- P7 party tomorrow, so please bring your clothes to change into at lunchtime. Wear something comfy because you will be playing games and dancing.

Please make sure that black trousers or leggings and black shoes/sandshoes are in school tomorrow ready for the rehearsals.

Here is a site  santatracker.google.com that we were using in ICT today.

We are learning about the symbols associated with an Advent wreath.

vendredi le six décembre

We have started to learn about the Christian period of Advent when people look forward to celebrating the birth of Jesus. We looked at the UNCRC Rights relating to religion and how no child should be discriminated against because of what they believe and how they worship.

We were developing our skills using different media to make the base for our Advent Crowns.

Please remember that it is the Christmas Party for Primary 5 on Tuesday afternoon.

Show costumes.

Everyone just needs black trousers/leggings and black sand shoes. Thanks
