This afternoon we were using different games to help us recall stations of our times tables more speedily. These games can be accessed at home through Top Marks in your search Engine, then look for the times tables section.
We enjoyed a great afternoon watching the varied skills of the children participating in “Woodlands Got Talent”. Congratulations to everyone who took part : contestants, judges, hosts and audience- it was a great event and here are some photos.
In HWB the second group experience eating a delicious bowl of fruit salad. The groups swapped so that the first group identified which were fruit and which were vegetables from a selection- the tomato 🍅 is the tricky one!

Using Maths Frame to practise our understanding and recall of times tables. Using any online games to improve recall of times tables would be useful.
This morning we had a presentation from British Transport Police advising us how to stay safe near the railways. We were told some really interesting and useful facts.
We worked in groups to compare Viking longhouses with our own homes.
This afternoon in dance/drama, we recorded our moves to show our interpretation of The Ride of the Valkyries.
Now that Activelearn has been updated, remember that the codes are all in lower case and are : the first 4 letters from your first and last names, woodlands and 6kwa.
You could hear a pin drop! Everyone was so engrossed in their weaving activity. We learnt that the Vikings wove cloth on their large looms, so we tried using small weaving cards and wool. It can be a bit fiddly, but we have made a good start and already the pieces of woven cloth are taking shape.
We were comparing our reading sequences with our language peer partners.
In HWB we were learning how to make a healthy fruit salad and then some of us got so sample the lovely fruit. Next week the rest of the class will have their turn.

In ICT we were researching what life was like as a Viking, ready for our taught writing this week.
