mercredi le cinq décembre

We worked together to put up and trim our tree, doesn’t it look good?

We have started to learn about primary and secondary sources of evidence. Today we were working together to identify what type of source our examples were. The big hint is whether the thing was around at the time that you are talking about. For example Roman coins found recently in a hoard are primary source because they come from the time of the Romans , but if they are copies ( like those found in shops) they are a secondary source of evidence.

We separated these examples into primary and secondary sources correctly and could explain some confusion that there might be.

Tomorrow is Christmas Cinema after school, so we are looking forward to an enjoyable few hours of movie magic!

There is still time to bring in your slip and money for the Christmas Cinema on Thursday after school. Everyone has a slip for ordering their Christmas Lunch and money for this should be in school for Friday.

Preparations are under way for the Nativity and we would like P4 pupils who are not part of the cast to bring in the following :

blue jeans and soft indoor shoes (sand shoes or similar)

School will provide the T-shirts and any accessories.

Please bring the clothes in a labelled plastic bag by the end of the week. Many thanks for your help with the costumes.

Festive Fun Homework

Homework from 3/12/18

Language

Spelling words:

Revise the words on your spelling wall and make sure that you can confidently use all spelling patterns and the correct phonic sounds e.g. thought NOT fort!

Practise spelling using different activities, e.g. rainbow writing, spelling backwards, making chains, etc.

 Reading – ongoing

Enjoy reading any texts! Primary Times is a great way of starting to read reports and any Christmas/winter stories are an excellent way of keeping up your reading skills over the holidays.

You have been given a First Minister’s Reading Challenge recording book, so that you can make comments about any books that you read at home. Please look after it and remember that I am keen to see how you are getting on and read any reviews that you have written.
