Language

Spelling words: Well done! Nearly everyone got their spellings all correct – let’s keep this up!

  • Write out each word in the 2nd row neatly 3 times
  • Write 6 INTERESTING AND CORRECTLY PUNCTUATED sentences.

Reading

Please read the whole book to an adult and make sure that you pay attention to the punctuation to help you read with suitable pauses and expression. Ask the adult to make a comment about how well you read in your jotter.

RD – The Ghost Next Door

DA – Little Monster

JKR group – continue to read your own novels/chapter books at home. Please make sure that you read 2 chapters to an adult so that you can show someone how you are practising a range of reading strategies. Ask the adult to make a comment about how well you read in your jotter.

Number

Complete your number activity (either array patterns or a times table)

Keep practising the 2, 4, 5 and 10 times tables covered so far. Ask someone to challenge you to help become quicker at recalling the answers.

Topic    The Giant of Thistle Mountain

As part of our topic, we have decided on a name for our community – Snow Valley and we will be adding our houses and other community buildings to our class frieze.

Our village will be entering a new human-rights based “Best Village competition” soon, so I would like you to design the poster!

It can be drawn or printed out.

Make the poster eye-catching, include the correct information and spell correctly!

The poster should include:

  •  a heading – Best village competition
  • Date of entry is by 16th May 2018
  • 2 special things that the judges will be looking for e.g. co-operation, respect, participation, responsibility

Think about links to human Rights and what makes a “good” community.
