Punctuation was our focus in Big Writing today.

First of all we had to read a passage with no punctuation to work out the meaning, then we could create sentences. We thought of ways that we could make sentences even better by adding commas and connectives. Finally, if we included exclamation marks we could bring feeling and expression to the text.

To practise our punctuation we used the context of the Battle of Largs which we have been learning about. We learnt about the punctuation marks used in writing newspaper reports and we checked our punctuation as we were writing. You will be able to “Read all about it!!”  soon.
