In Maths we will be continuing our work on fractions. Here are some things for you to try at home:
Ask children to create their own set of fraction and decimal dominoes. Using small slips of paper or card they try to make a loop of dominoes where the fraction on one domino is equivalent to the decimal on another domino.
Get some squared paper. Ask them to draw diagrams and write an explanation to help a younger child understand why the fractions 18\24, 12\16, 9\12, 6\8 and 3\4 are equivalent. Suggest that they draw five rectangles made from 24 squares for this task.
With a partner, one person say a fraction and the other person has to draw what that fraction could look like.
Decimal search collect items, labels or newspaper/magazine cuttings that involve decimals with hundredths, e.g. 2•75 l, 1•02 kg and to stick them into their thinking jotter. Write explanations of the decimals, e.g. 2•75 l is 2 whole litres and 75 hundredths of a litre, and to write each as a fraction or mixed number, e.g. 2•75 l = 2 75\100 l = 2 3\4 l.

Literacy
We have just finished reading Michael Morpurgo’s book “The Wreck of the Zanzibar”. Go to the library and choose another Michael Morpurgo book. In your thinking jotter, you could create a character map for one of the characters you like.
In the coming weeks we will be looking at spelling mnemonics (a tool to help remember facts or a large amount of information. It can be a song, rhyme, acronym, image, or a phrase to help remember a list of facts in a certain order). An example of a spelling mnemonic is Never Eat Cake Eat Slimming Salad And Remain Young = Necessary. In your thinking jotter, collect as many mnemonics as you can- ask your family and friends if they know any.
Science
Have a look at this website. It is another school called Woodlands but it is down in Kent in England. Answer the questions on the web page and then there are links to choose from that will help you learn more about sound.

Health and Well Being
We have been discussing ways of coping with our feelings. Make a poster to show how you could overcome a negative feeling
